Waiariki Street Art Puts Semester 2 InFocus

18 Jun 2014

If the Rotorua CBD seems more colourful this week, thank Waiariki's Certificate in Art and Design students. This week they have painted three chalk art murals around the CityFocus center, aimed at generating awareness of Semester 2 enrollments.

Tania Wheki's Taniwha design, and Waee Winitana's Eye piece, both merge either the institute's bi-cultural nature or the creative arts with the icon from Waiariki's logo. With the artworks already drawing positive public feedback - including from inquisitive police - the displays will be a vibrant feature of the city's hot spot, right into the weekend.
