Waiariki Schools and Academies
Waiariki is comprised of six schools of study, including a wānanga. Each school is responsible for specific areas of study, as indicated below. They each have a main reception area where you can gain more course information, enrol, collect your student ID and parking sticker, turn in assignments, have your questions answered, and more.
 Te Kura Taki
Reception: Mokoia Campus, I Block (use entrance at front of building)
Description: The School of Business and Tourism has been part of Waiariki since the institute's earliest days. The selection of qualifications has been developed in response to market demands with options that underpin local business and tourism development, and include business management degrees, project management courses, business administration and tourism training, ranging from entry level through to diploma and degree level.

 Te Kura Parongo
Reception: Mokoia Campus, N Block, Ground Floor (entrance facing I Block)
Description: The School of Computing, Technology and Communications includes qualifications in computing and technology, journalism, creative writing, and art and design for a truly interactive environment for students and lecturers. The school provides tailored workspaces for the courses it offers and its lecturers are specialists in their fields.

 Te Kura Takawao
Reception: Mokoia Campus, O Block (a.k.a., The Tree House, building closest to Old Taupo Road entrance)
Description: The School of Forestry and Primary Industries is New Zealand's largest vocational forestry training institute, which was established over 60 years ago by the New Zealand government to train students in plantation forest management, sawmilling and wood manufacturing. We are very proud of our school, which is keen to welcome international students to join us in forest management, forest operations, wood processing, biotechnology, sustainable energy, agriculture and horticulture. We have the best selection of equipment for training people in an industry environment, giving Waiariki the edge in our teaching ability.

 Te Puna Whai Ora
Reception: Mokoia Campus, E Block (entrance facing N Block)
Description: The School of Nursing and Health Studies offers a range of qualifications in nursing and health studies. The Bachelor of Nursing has a reputation for producing top graduates in New Zealand. Students in all courses are well supported by highly qualified lecturing and administrative staff. Many nursing courses are also taught in Tauranga on the Windermere Campus at Bay of Plenty Polytechnic.

 Te Kura Mahi-a-Rehe
Reception: Mokoia Campus, C Block (between E Block and WITSA)
Description: The School of Trade Training is focused on bringing real skills for the real world to our students, enabling them to move into further training, employment or apprenticeships. This quality education will also ensure that you will have the skills necessary to make a smooth transition from tertiary study into the workforce. We offer courses in automotive, collision repair, mechanical engineering, welding and fabrication, carpentry, electrical, professional cookery and patisserie and hairdressing. Te Wananga a Ihenga
Reception: Mokoia Campus, G Block (the newest building on campus, located near the marae)
Description: Te Wānanga a Ihenga provides quality education and vocationally responsive pathways in Māori development, languages, foundation studies, social sciences and education. The wānanga offers a range of study options which include two bachelor's degrees, a Level 7 Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood Education), plus Level 4 and 5 certificates. Learn from experienced and qualified tutors in an environment that celebrates Māori customs and values. Expand and hone your knowledge and experience. Waiariki Academy of Singing and Music
Location: Mokoia Campus
Description: Waiariki Academy of Singing and Music was launched in February 2011. It provides a supportive environment where talented singers and musicians can prioritise their music while also gaining a tertiary qualification. Academy students are supported and mentored by staff who have an extensive reputation working with singers and musicians and who are held in high regard within the music industry. The academy hosts a band, quartet, a kappa haka team and a choir, and there are performance opportunities throughout the year to help students build their music portfolio.

Waiariki Academy of Sport
Location: Mokoia Campus, F Block
Description: Waiariki Academy of Sport was launched in 2007 to provide an environment where young, talented athletes can prioritise their sport while also gaining a tertiary qualification. The academy now includes roughly 80 student athletes and two Olympians. Sport science and medicine support is managed by the academy staff. Services to athletes include individual programme planning, testing, and prescription in areas such as exercise physiology, biomechanics, and physical training and conditioning. Academy staff work with the athletes, their individual coaches, and their mentors to provide complete support through training and competition.
