Waiariki Institute of Technology New Zealand Aria

The Waiariki Institute of Technology New Zealand Aria competition is one of Australasia’s most prestigious singing competitions. The event, in its current format, has been held annually for the past 14 years. Formerly known as the Rotorua Lockwood Aria, the competition offers life-changing opportunities to entrants and has launched the careers of some fine young singers.

Mayors TaskforceThe  Mayors of Rotorua and Taupo Districts are members of the Mayors Taskforce for Jobs, a national initiative to encourage employment and training.  The taskforce is at the forefront of promoting industry training to position this sector as a valuable and attractive career choice.
Industry training graduation ceremonies are an important initiative of the Mayors Taskforce for Jobs.  Around the country, these ceremonies are held to recognise the importance of graduates’ qualifications and to raise the profile of trades and industries.
