GOAL 7
Provide vibrant learning environments and reliable infrastructure to enable the efficient, effective and appropriate delivery of both qualifications and services to students.

Actions

  • Develop campus facilities which address student, community and stakeholder needs and accommodate increased provision.
  • Provide timely and accurate information relevant to the key drivers of participation, completion and success.
  • Integrate ICT to maintain and enhance digital learning platforms which underpin a networked virtual campus, including global connections, information exchange and curriculum alignment pathways.
  • Develop solutions to provide staff and student access to health, fitness and recreation facilities at Waiariki campuses.
  • Provide academic and support services that reinforce learning and provide a well-rounded learning experience in a supportive community.
  • Support accommodation initiatives for international students and for domestic student on niche programmes.

GOAL 8
Establish and embed entry-level foundation education to underpin the portfolio of provision.

Actions

  • Develop collaborative partnerships that increase and enhance provision of entry-level foundation education; (Ref. PC 3)
  • Support all staff teaching foundation courses to have appropriate qualifications in literacy and numeracy teaching;
  • Offer foundation courses in all regions at a variety of venues to suit market segments;
  • Establish foundation learning and teaching clusters. (Ref.PC 3)

GOAL 9
Achieve increased levels of educational success for young – 18 to 25 year old New Zealanders.

Actions:

  • Increase recruitment of school leavers through targeted marketing.
  • Provide holistic mentoring and related support services for school leavers and international students.
  • Establish a Personal Education Plan (PEP) approach to engage with first time students.
  • Establish scholarship, internship and mentoring for academic, work experience and fitness programmes.
