About the Procession

The Graduation Procession of graduands and Toi Ohomai staff starts at the Village Green (in front of Lake Rotorua). The procession leaves at 12pm and will follow Whakaue Street, proceed down Tutanekai Street, turn left onto Arawa Street and right onto Fenton Street, ending at Sir Howard Morrison Performing Arts Centre.

The Graduation Procession date will be confirmed closer to the event.

Graduands must be dressed in their academic regalia for all graduation events. Wear smart shoes. Throughout the events, you will be standing for some time and you will be walking on surfaces such as city streets, grass lawns (at the pōhiri), stairs and across a wooden stage. We suggest footwear that is easy to walk in and comfortable for several hours.

Family and friends are encouraged to join those in town standing along the streets to cheer on the procession. This is a great photo opportunity.

Note: If the procession is cancelled due to bad weather, a notice will be posted on our Facebook page, or you may call us for further instructions.
