A stronger partnership between tertiary and secondary education providers in the Bay of Plenty has resulted in the Waiariki Institute of Technology and Bay of Plenty Polytechnic signing a joint partnership agreement in March 2013 with the Bay of Plenty Principals’ Association. The aim is to improve student success by working more closely together, with the ultimate goal being to ensure the successful transition of students from secondary to tertiary study and improve the NCEA success rates across the Bay of Plenty region.
Bay of Plenty Principals’ Association (BOPPA) represents secondary principals throughout the Bay of Plenty region (Western and Eastern BOP, Rotorua, Taupo and secondary schools in the outlying areas of Tokoroa, Matamata, Putaruru and Coromandel). Waiariki Institute of Technology and Bay of Plenty Polytechnic are recognised as the tertiary educational providers of ‘first choice’ in the region.
