Applying to Study at Waiariki
Prior Learning Recognition
If you wish to receive recognition or credit transfer for previous tertiary learning then please list the credits you would like recognised and transferred to Waiariki on your application form or download the 'Prior Learning Recognition' information sheet.
Mature Applicants
Mature applicants may be assessed on both academic qualifications and industry work experience.
Application Process
Complete the International Application Form (link to our application page). Please include with your application form the following documents:
- High School certificate, diploma or degree;
- Academic results sheet from last year at secondary school;
- Academic records from tertiary studies; and
- Photocopy of your passport showing personal details.
Copies of the above documents must be validated by a court official.
Important Note: If you are applying for the Certificate in English only, you are not required to send your academic results.

Important
- Once you have complied the above documents, you must post or deliver the documents with the Student Visa application fee to your nearest New Zealand Immigration Services Office (NZIS).
- When your application has been received by NZIS they will issue you with an application or a client number. Keep this receipt in a safe place and fax a copy of the receipt to Waiariki's International Office so we can follow the progress of your application with NZIS.
- You will be advised by the New Zealand Immigration Service of the outcome of your application in writing.
- Once you have been issued your 'Approval in Principle' please send full payment of your fees to Waiariki. Payment details are on the 'Letter of Offer' sent to you.
- Waiariki will then confirm your payment and issue you with a 'Letter of Acceptance'. A copy of the the 'Letter of Acceptance' and receipt will be forwarded to NZIS by Waiariki.
- You must then take the original Letter of Acceptance and your fees receipt along with your passport to the NZIS branch to obtain your Student Visa label.
When you receive your passport back, you can start arranging your travel to New Zealand.

Important Information
Validated Documents
All academic transcripts sent to us must be validated by either a court official or by approved Waiariki educational agent. Waiariki will only accept validated copies by fax or email, however original documents must be physically sighted by a Waiariki agent prior to enrolment.

Please note it is important that you send your flight details to us by at least 48 hours prior to departure so we can arrange your airport pickup and accommodation if you are requesting these services.
