Course Aim

The aim of this course is to provide students with the skills and knowledge to develop and evaluate effective quality models applied in manufacturing and develop a maintenance plan for an item of plant in a manufacturing plant.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Define quality management systems and their application
  2. Evaluate quality review techniques
  3. Describe the purpose and application of statistical process control techniques
  4. Apply basic statistical process control techniques to assure product quality
  5. Determine predictive maintenance requirements for an individual item of plant
  6. Develop a preventative and reactive maintenance plan for an item of plant
