Course Aim

The aim of this course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills to produce business documents using appropriate text conventions and word processing features, while applying ergonomic principles. Students will also gain experience in file management to manage and protect data and keyboarding skills.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Apply text processing skills and word processing features to produce business documents.
  2. Apply file management techniques to manage and protect data.
  3. Develop keyboarding skills to produce text at 25 wpm or 35 wpm.
  4. Identify, describe and apply ergonomic practices for a workstation.
