The aim of this course is to provide students with the skills and knowledge required to understand and apply a range of theoretical and practical carpentry skills to install roof cladding systems in a safe and professional manner.
On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Investigate and compare the types of roof cladding systems, durability, NZS:3604 requirements for penetrations, flashings and the use of sealants.
- Outline the health and safety aspects of working at height.
- Read and interpret plans, working drawings and specifications to calculate quantities and costs, and prepare an order for a range of roof claddings.
- Install roof cladding to eaves and verges in accordance with plans and specifications.
