Course Aim

This course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to explore and develop the skills required to write creative nonfiction as biography, memoir or local history for personal or commercial publication.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. analyse the differences between private writing (writing for self) and public writing (writing for publication);
  2. develop research skills useful to researching one’s own life and family history; and
  3. design and write own story using literary devices in a variety of forms;
