Students on this course will learn the main principles of grammar, punctuation and spelling and how to apply these principles in various forms of writing. Students will also develop an understanding of the differences and similarities between the written and spoken word (as relevant to the writer and/or speaker).
On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- analyse and explain the importance of correct grammar, punctuation and spelling.
- compare and discuss ways in which the spoken word reflects the written and/or the written word reflects the spoken.
- apply the principles of correct grammar, punctuation and spelling to own work.
