This course provides students with the knowledge and skills to examine and develop the principles and practise of writing a screenplay with an emphasis on the acquisition of the basic skills and information required to write for the screen.
On successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Analyse and explain legal and marketing aspects of writing a screenplay;
- Compare and describe the roles that writer, director and producer play in the making of a film;
- Identify and explain the importance of developing a screenplay from story line to finished script; and
- Structure a screenplay to a producer’s or script editor’s requirements.
