Course Aim

The aim of this course is enhance students’ knowledge of sustainability, and to identify sustainable and unsustainable practices in relation to creative and related industries. Students will develop a design solution or service which addresses key issues affecting the industry which is informed by sustainable design principles.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Investigate and analyse the key sustainability issues that affect a specific discipline or industry within the creative sector.
  2. Communicate the key issues, challenges and opportunities in a relevant medium.
  3. Design and evaluate an alternative solution to identified unsustainable practice in accordance with a specified brief.
  4. Convincingly present the design solution or service to an audience using appropriate media.
