Course Aim

The aim of this course is to extend student knowledge and skill through participation in a range of workshops. Students will work with a specified brief to develop ideas and concepts through research and experimentation with materials, process and techniques. Students will conduct research to inform their own work and practice, and develop a creative response to the project brief. Students will evidence their development within a chosen discipline through the creation of a personal development journal, and present creative outputs in relation to relevant frameworks and other artists and/or designers.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Produce a personal development journal that evidences critical thinking, and extension of technical skills and knowledge.
  2. Evaluate own work and work of others through reflection and critique.
  3. Explore and experiment with form, techniques and materials in the development of creative works that reflect their design ethos.
  4. Present and exhibit creative outputs in relation to relevant frameworks, and other artists and designers.
