Course Aim

Students will develop ability to assess and adapt viewpoints to respond appropriately and achieve specific outcomes in a range of informal interactions, whether professional or academic.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. use active listening skills in order to appropriately respond to complex English in interactions in a range of informal settings for professional or academic contexts
  2. adapt and elaborate on ideas and opinions presented during oral interactions in complex English in a range of informal settings in professional or academic contexts
  3. deduce and assess information from a range of varied written texts in complex English for a specific purpose for professional or academic contexts
  4. prioritise, compare and contrast information to produce written recommendations in complex English for professional or academic contexts
