Course Aim

Students will understand and produce clear standard English in transactional exchanges for general, workplace or academic contexts.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. follow spoken discourse in clear standard English to complete transactions in general, workplace or academic contexts
  2. participate in oral transactional exchanges in clear standard English with familiar topics in general, workplace or academic contexts
  3. understand written correspondence or commentary in clear standard English for general, workplace or academic contexts
  4. write correspondence or commentary in connected text in clear standard English for practical, transactional purposes with familiar topics in general, workplace or academic contexts
