Course Aim

Students will develop ability to understand and present information, on topics which may be familiar or unfamiliar, in complex English for general, workplace or academic contexts.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. use listening skills to interpret the main points and key supporting details of information, on familiar or unfamiliar topics, presented in complex spoken English for general, workplace or academic contexts
  2. provide fluent oral presentation of information, on topics which may be familiar or unfamiliar, in complex English for general, workplace or academic contexts
  3. use reading skills to interpret information from texts written in complex English, on familiar or unfamiliar topics, for general, workplace or academic contexts
  4. write fluent texts in complex English which incorporate information from a number of sources, on topics which may be familiar or unfamiliar, for general, workplace or academic contexts
