This award provides students with the knowledge of basic maintenance and safe use of a chainsaw for non-commercial or domestic use.

Award information

To achieve the award of the Short Award in Chainsaw Skills, students must pass a total of 10 compulsory credits.

Knowledge and skills you will gain

Graduates will be able to:

  • safely operate, maintain and sharpen a chainsaw; and
  • make cuts with a chainsaw.
