Course Aim

This course provides students with the knowledge of basic maintenance and safe use of a chainsaw for non-commercial or domestic use.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. understand Health and Safety requirements relating to chainsaw use
  2. identify all chainsaw components, and explain their functions
  3. demonstrate the correct and safe use and basic maintenance of a chainsaw for small wood operations
  4. select and communicate information using appropriate language related to chainsaw operation
