Course Aim

Students will explore the application of theoretical concepts of infection prevention and control in national and international healthcare settings.

Learning outcomes

  1. Explore the relevance of current infection prevention and control practice in its historical context.
  2. Critically analyse options to prevent the transmission of infectious organisms in healthcare settings.
  3. Research and discuss standards and guidelines underpinning infection prevention and control practice nationally and internationally.
