Programme aim

Gain skills, knowledge, and capability in service operations and work practices for the commercial accommodation sector and/or food and beverage sector of the hospitality industry.

Graduates will be able to professionally support and enhance the guest experience through an applied focus on monitoring and maintaining effective communication, teamwork and service delivery, and the systems and processes that underpin hospitality operations for the respective industry sector.

Additional costs for all students

Additional costs include uniforms and non-slip leather shoes (approx. $350).

Team leader, supervisor or management roles in kitchens, restaurants, bars, cafes, accommodation, catering, hotels; Reception and housekeeping service roles at commercial accommodation providers (backpackers, hostels, motels, hotels, spas, resorts)

  • New Zealand Certificate in Accommodation (Level 3), Housekeeping and Reception strands
  • New Zealand Certificate in Food and Beverage Service (Level 3), Café Services and Barista strands
  • New Zealand Certificate in Food and Beverage Service (Level 4), Restaurant Services strand
  • New Zealand Certificate in Hotel Reception (Level 4)

This programme leads to the award of the:

  • NZ2103 New Zealand Certificate in Accommodation (Level 3), Housekeeping and Reception strands, or
  • NZ2104 New Zealand Certificate in Food and Beverage Service (Level 3), Café Services and Barista strands, and
  • NZ2111 New Zealand Certificate in Hotel Reception (Level 4), or
  • NZ2105 New Zealand Certificate in Food and Beverage Service (Level 4), Restaurant Services strand
