Students will be prepared for beginning practice as a registered nurse. This course will focus on competencies integrated problem framing and solving, reflective practice, and consolidation of nursing knowledge with a holistic approach to nursing practice.Each student will undertake a period of nursing practice in an elected practicum setting. At the completion of this practicum the student will be assessed as either competent or not competent, using the four generic domains of practice identified by the Nursing Council of New Zealand and in the area of professionalbehaviour.Students will review the qualification content of the previous three years, in preparation for successful achievement of the Nursing Council of New Zealand Examination for Registration as a Nurse, and beginning registered nurse practice.
