Students will use research to define a coaching philosophy. They will develop knowledge of teaching and coaching strategies that supports progression in sports performance. Students will apply this knowledge within developmental coaching sessions and in an advanced coaching context. They will be able to adapt skills and knowledge to implement coaching strategies with a range of population groups. Finally, students will discuss selection processes as key to sporting goals.
On successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- use evidence to refine and construct their own coaching philosophy;
- research a range of effective teaching and coaching strategies, then apply and evaluate within a developmental series of coaching and an advanced coaching session;
- analyse, implement and teach an advanced skill to achieve a specific goal; and
