Course Aim

The aim of the course is for students to describe strategies in meeting communication needs of people with a communication disability, demonstrate understanding of service plans and their purpose and develop skills in report writing.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Describe the purpose and requirements of a service plan and to demonstrate how such a plan is used to support consumers to meet the goals outlined in their service plan.
  2. Demonstrate skills in report writing
  3. Identify and describe communication strategies and techniques with people with a communication disability in an aged care, health, or disability context.
