This aim of this course is to provide students with an understanding on how tourism can alter economic, social and physical environment of destination regions.
On successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Evaluate theoretical tourism perspectives and frameworks in relation to the impacts of tourism
- Analyse economic, social, cultural and environmental impacts of tourism on a global, or national or regional basis
- Discuss how the negative impacts of tourism may be minimised to provide for sustainable tourism development
