Course Aim

The aim of this course is to provide students with the skills and knowledge to relate operations management principles to manufacturing operations.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, the student will be able to explain and apply principles of:

  1. the determination of manufacturing facilities’ location and layout;
  2. logistics;
  3. production planning and scheduling;
  4. information systems;
  5. purchasing systems;
  6. the contemporary relevance of the Treaty of Waitangi when working with Iwi resource owners; and
  7. principles of engagement with Iwi.
