Who are the members of WITSA?
As per the Education Amendment Act 2000, Sections 229A to 229D, all students who enrol on a course, paper or programme at Waiariki Institute of Technology are automatically members of WITSA. Being a member of WITSA is akin to taking out an insurance policy – you never know when you might need it, but when you do, you’re pleased you had it.

What is WITSA?
WITSA is a student run and student led Incorporated Society. Students formed WITSA in 1987 to a) ensure that they and future students have an influence in the direction, look and content of their education at Waiariki, and b) to oversee and maintain the rights and welfare of all Waiariki students. While there is an executive committee who is responsible for ensuring the overall effective operation of WITSA, the absolute power remains with all student members.
