Administration Ace And Mum, Dianne Coe Ready To Rejoin Workforce

“I needed to invest in my future,” states Dianne Coe, graduate of the Certificate in Business Administration (Level 3 and 4).

“I had part-time casual work and I felt I needed to upskill to get further in my career. Being a mum for so long, I had fallen behind with technology and office trends.”

The thought of returning to Waiariki's Taupo campus as an adult student never phased Dianne’s excitement, and now having completed her qualifications, she cannot wait to take part in April’s graduation ceremony, and having her proud family see her walk across the stage.

“I love showing my boys my marks and now I know what they are going through. Studying actually helps you to help your children.”

Highlighting that her courses were hard yet rewarding, Dianne has nothing but praise for her tutor, Lovely Painuthara.

“Lovely is absolutely lovely. She became our mum basically, our supportive surrogate mum (laughs).”

“When Dianne started she didn’t have any confidence,” says Lovely in response. “By the end of the course she was a different student. She had difficulty, but she didn’t give up. I’m very proud of her.”

With her children still young of age, Dianne is looking forward to getting back into the workforce and finding part-time work with her new up-to-date skills.

“One thing I’ve found is realising that you can do it – that’s HUGE. It’s not ‘just do it’, but ‘you can do it’.”
