Course Aim

This course will provide students with the skills and knowledge to operate a milking shed in an unsupervised role.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Explain milk production
  2. Set up, dismantle, clean and maintain a milking shed
  3. Milk cows
  4. Identify and treat problems with milking cows
  5. Manage milking, drying off and heifer training
