Programme aim

Develop the skills required to safely carry out a range of activities for the efficient operation of a rural workplace, including the use and maintenance of workplace vehicles, machinery, and infrastructure.

The programme will further develop knowledge, skills, and work performance relevant to the primary industry enabling graduates to maintain and improve production through safe and efficient workplace practices under limited supervision.

Assistant or general hand roles in the primary industry sector.

Award information

To achieve the award of the New Zealand Certificate in Agriculture (Vehicles, Machinery and Infrastructure) (Level 3), students must pass a total of 45 credits:

  • 25 core credits; and
  • 10 credits from each specified course options list.

Knowledge and skills you will gain

Graduates will have the skills, knowledge and attributes to be able to:

  • identify and assist with the management of workplace hazards; and
  • carry out a range of activities related to the use and/or maintenance of workplace vehicles, machinery and infrastructure.
