Programme aim

This certificate provides students with the knowledge required for the diagnostics and repair of vehicles for electronic components.

This qualification is part of the National Certificate in Automotive Engineering (Level 4), and includes MITO unit standards.

Award information

To achieve the award of the Certificate in Automotive Engineering (Vehicle Repair and Electronics) students must pass a total of 60 compulsory credits.
The NZQA unit standards included in this qualification are required for the National Certificate in Automotive Engineering (Level 4).

Knowledge and skills you will gain

Graduates will be able to:
  • inspect, diagnose and rectify faults in vehicles for general repair; and
  • electronic components in vehicles.

Admission and entry requirements for this qualification are in accordance with the academic regulations.

As part of the condition of your enrolment you will be required to return a clean drug test within the first 2 weeks of study.
