Course Aim

The aim of this course is to provide students with the skills and knowledge to implement industry standards in a retail environment to provide customer service, maintain stock, identify components and systems, and to prepare an estimate or quotation of a repair.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. provide customer service in given situations;
  2. attend to customer enquiries face-to-face and on the telephone;
  3. identify the general locations and functions of motor vehicle systems and main components;
  4. carry out automotive industry personal workplace requirements;
  5. demonstrate knowledge of maintaining stock security in the motor and related industries; and
  6. estimate or quote the cost of a repair or service in the motor and related industries.
