Develop skills and knowledge in reception and retail functions within the salon environment. Gain experience in attending to clients and enquiries, making appointments, handling customer payments, maintaining client records and confidentiality, displaying salon products and promoting salon products and services to clients.
On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- perform salon reception duties including handling enquiries and customer payments, scheduling and recording client appointments, and maintaining the salon reception area;
- determine client requirements for salon products and services, and provide accurate information to clients using communication and consultation techniques;
- describe and explain the features and benefits of salon products and services using writing and verbal skills; and
- design, plan, create and maintain in-salon displays to promote products and services.
