Students will understand the legal requirements for establishment, operation and the cessation of various forms of business entities with a focus on companies, securities and partnership law. Students will also be able to examine regulations with regards to the formation and operation of companies, relationships within companies and with outside parties, and company failure.
On successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- analyse the characteristics of legal entities including companies, partnership and trading trusts;
- critically evaluate documentation and registration requirements for formation and operation of companies, partnership and trading trusts and apply key elements to typical situations; and
- examine essential elements of securities law such as corporate fund raising.
