The aim of this course is to introduce students to a variety of hands-on practical workshops where they can learn and experiment with a range of materials and techniques, and contribute to a collaborative project. The workshops will cover a broad range of creative disciplines allowing students to gain and develop introductory knowledge and skills. Students will document their progress and experimentation through a personal development journal.
On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Create a personal development journal that evidences reflective practice, and development of technical skills and knowledge across a range of disciplines.
- Research and experiment with form, techniques and materials through the creation of practical samples.
- Collaborate with others to create design solutions in accordance with a project brief.
- Work effectively within a team environment and contribute to the design solution process from the initial project stages to the final presentation of the completed work.
