The aim of this course is to provide students with the knowledge of: factors that affect the performance of forestry workers and employment relationships; environmental factors affecting including historical sites and areas of cultural significance to Māori affecting commercial forest harvesting operations; environmental requirements in forestry; and how to work as a team member in forestry operations.
On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Describe and record nutrition, hydration, personal health and substance use factors that affect the performance of forestry workers.
- Identify and explain environmental factors and requirements of forestry operations.
- Interpret job descriptions, explain employment relationships and how to carry out work, and communicate effectively as a team member in forestry operations.
