Course Aim

The aim of this course is to provide students with the knowledge of the roles and responsabilities of persons acting as a Health and Safety Representative and on a Health and Safety Committee, and of the requirements for managing contractors working on a site.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Relate the application of health and safety legislation to the roles and responsibilities of Health and Safety Representatives in the workplace
  2. Examine the types, establishment and operation of workplace Health and Safety Committees.
  3. Explain the health and safety roles, responsibilities, monitoring and management requirements for contractors performing work on a site.
