Award information

New Zealand Certificate in Forestry Operations (Level 3), students must pass the compulsory courses for the Core and compulsory courses for strand/s enrolled on:

Core (30 credits) PLUS one or more of the following strands:

  • Chemical Handling strand (20 credits),
  • Mensuration strand (20 credits),
  • Pruning strand (30 credits), and
  • Thin to Waste strand (40 credits)

Entry criteria

Admission and entry requirements for this qualification are in accordance with the academic regulations. Applicants must also be:

  • 16 years old at the time the programme commences;
  • able to read, write, and communicate in English at a basic level;
  • physically able to complete the programme specific outcomes.

For international applicants who come from non-English speaking backgrounds, an IELTS General or Academic score of 5.0 with no band score lower than 5.0, or an equivalent relevant English Proficiency Outcome
