Students will acquire the knowledge and skills of healthcare epidemiology to be able to evaluate the role of surveillance systems, statistical data, and research studies in preventing, tracing and managing healthcare associated infections.
On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Analyse and interpret epidemiological data.
- Evaluate healthcare epidemiology research findings through the application of epidemiological principles and processes.
- Appraise the criteria for a surveillance programme and the programmes value in monitoring and preventing healthcare associated infections.
