Students will develop capability and application in advanced music notation, pitch, harmony and rhythm to improve instrument performance. Students will gain an in-depth understanding of the clear advantages these particular skills give the musician and artist in the pursuit of musical excellence.
On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- demonstrate and apply knowledge of advanced forms of written musical notation;
- demonstrate and apply an advanced knowledge of chord structure and progressions;
- demonstrate and apply an advanced knowledge of pitch, harmony and rhythm in music; and
- demonstrate advanced capability on a chosen instrument.
