Gain the knowledge and skills to implement learner focused nurse education and for investigation of the clinical learning environment.
Students enrolling on the course will complete two courses as follows:
- NURS.7118 Akoranga Tautāwhi i te Whare Haumanu Facilitating Learning in the Clinical Environment, 5 credits at level 7
- NURS.8001 Whakaako Kune i te Whare HaumanuAdvanced Facilitated Learning in the Clinical Environment, 15 credits at level 8
Knowledge and skills you will gain
On completion of the training scheme the graduate will be able to:
- facilitate the learning of undergraduate/pre-registration students, new graduates and experienced staff changing to new practice settings, and
- critically analyse the clinical learning environment for learners
Successful graduates of this training scheme will have gained advanced theoretical knowledge and strategies for facilitating the learning of the nursing preceptee in the clinical practice settings of Aotearoa New Zealand.
Admission and entry requirements for this qualification are in accordance with the academic regulations.
Students will be required to provide authorised evidence of nurse registration and a current practicing certificate in New Zealand.
