Course Aim

Students will be introduced to te reo Māori vocabulary and basic sentence structures for contextual use. Students will be able to read, write, comprehend and verbalise basic Māori words and sentences in personal and professional contexts.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Develop usable te reo vocabulary in the contexts of daily use and professional practice.
  2. Read, comprehend and verbalise basic Māori sentences in personal and professional contexts.
  3. Apply the protocols (tikanga) associated with written Māori language use.
