Course Aim

Students will increase their te reo Māori vocabulary, phrases and sentences and further develop, speaking, written and listening skills for personal and professional contextual use. Students will be able to describe and demonstrate tikanga (protocols) in a variety of settings.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Develop usable te reo vocabulary in daily use and professional practice contexts.
  2. Read, comprehend and verbalise Māori phases and sentences accurately and in appropriate contexts.
  3. Describe and apply the protocols (tikanga) associated with Māori language use in a variety of settings.
