Students will develop leadership knowledge and skills that can be effectively applied within a relevant situation and/or sporting careers. They will have the opportunity to explore leadership within successful teams as well as design a leadership framework to support self-development.
On successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- use research to develop theory of self-management, emotional intelligence, leadership styles and qualities;
- investigate leadership strategies to inspire, influence change and build confidence within a team or individual context;
- examine and discuss the characteristics of successful sports teams; and
- undertake a self-assessment of current leadership qualities and formulate an action plan that supports leadership growth and potential.
