Students will be able to identify key attributes that contribute to the ideal sport performance state. They will be able to apply psychological skills training principles within a team and individual sporting context. Students will apply assessment analysis and evaluative processes to determine performance direction requirements. They will also develop skills to be able to work effectively as a team.
On successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- use assessment analysis as a primary tool to determining performance requirements of sports individuals and teams;
- examine peak performance strategies that support athlete and team progression;
- work in a team to implement a variety of psychological skills training strategies, such as performance skills; facilitative skills, within a range of sports genres; and
- plan and evaluate a psychological skills training programme enabling a consistent achievement of ideal performance state.
