Students will be able to use a broad range of evidenced-based theory to the support application of management strategies that enable effective and safe operations of a sports and/or recreational facility.
On successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- investigate financial management of a sports facility and prepare a budget identifying expenditure and income;
- research, analyse and critically examine facility specific issues, rules and regulations, legal and ethical considerations, health and safety, equipment maintaince, and cost effectiveness;
- discuss and apply, under supervison,organisational management of a sports facility including; communication, cultural and ethnic considerations, administration processes, customer centred services and sustainable practices, team cohesion; and
- identify and recommend resolutions for occupational health and safety issues surrounding sporting facilities.
