Students will develop introductory knowledge and skills in assessing personal levels of fitness, developing and implementing basic exercise plans and providing basic exercise instruction.
On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Assess personal levels of fitness, under guidance, using reliable techniques and recording skills.
- Demonstrate and apply a basic understanding of the major muscle groups of the human body, movement progression and correct body positioning for exercise using reading and writing skills.
- Develop, implement, monitor and review basic personal exercise plans.
- Demonstrate and provide instruction in basic exercise and stretching techniques.
