Students will explore the essence of music fundamentals through an investigation of simple music notation, rhythm, pitch and harmony and transfer their new-found abilities to an instrument or voice in a short performance.
On successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- demonstrate, using writing, reading and practical skills, an understanding of basic music notation;
- display and apply an understanding of rhythm in a short performance;
- display and apply an understanding of pitch; and display and apply an understanding of basic harmony.
