The aim of this course is to provide students with an understanding of tourism strategic planning issues and their effective application in business planning.
On successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Critique implications of social, technological, environmental, economic and political mega-trends influencing the future development of the tourism industry, both globally and nationally.
- Analyse a range of organisations within the tourism sector in terms of sustainable competitive advantage.
- Evaluate the implications for leadership in change management planning, including the issue of ethics and social responsibilities.
- Critically review regional and national approaches to tourism development strategies.
